About the Awards
The Developing Tourism Leaders (DTL) Awards are aimed at final-year tertiary students studying tourism, hospitality and events in Victoria. Established by Service Skills Victoria, the awards foster entrepreneurial skills and provide exciting employment opportunities for the future leaders of the tourism industry.
The awards are an innovative workforce development initiative targeting final-year tourism, hospitality and events tertiary students. Entrants are required to develop innovative small business or event concepts and produce an in-depth business or event plan. The business plans are judged by a panel of industry representatives based on the feasibility of the business, product innovation and knowledge of the tourism industry. As well as receiving prizes for their efforts, winners will also have the opportunity to meet industry representatives and apply for work placement.
